Julie Pietrangelo

Artistic & Musical Director · 20+ Years

Well known in the area for her many award-winning musical and choral endeavours, Julie has a background in choral work and theatre, and created Voices because of her passion for both. She provides expert vocal guidance while crafting crowd-pleasing performances for Voices' audiences.

Danielle Bennett

Choreographer

Danielle has been involved in the dance world since she was four years old. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Education from York University, she's taken on a variety of performance and choreographic opportunities — including teaching in England before bringing her BEd to good use in Canada with the TVDSB. Dance is her passion, and she's thrilled to be part of the creative team.

Steven Morley

Collaborative Pianist

Steven started accompanying choirs at the early age of 13 and has been an active accompanist throughout the province ever since. He is currently the pianist at Byron United Church as well as an active musical theatre musician and music director. He has music directed for London Community Players' (LCP) production of Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance (2024), as well as LCP's production of Urinetown: The Musical (2026), for which his work earned a co-nomination for the Western Ontario Drama League Award for Best Director. Steven is a graduate of the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University.

Register online and choose a slot between 6:30–9:30 PM on August 26th. It takes just minutes — pick whatever works for your schedule.

Prepare One Song

Choose a musical theatre song you love and bring full sheet music for our accompanist (chords-only charts unfortunately don't work).

Sing Your Heart Out

A friendly vocal range check, a listening skills exercise, optional choreography placement (dance never required), and a brief, relaxed interview.

"I had sung in more adult "classical" choirs for years. I was always one of the youngest members and moved around a lot more than the other members in the choir. I wanted to try something different with people my own age. I was in theatre in high school and love Broadway music. The moment I auditioned for The Voices of Broadway I knew that I had found the place where I belonged. This group of people raise each other up. We support each other through the good and the bad. We strive to perform to the best of our abilities, always raising the bar a little more each show or season. The greatest rush for me is putting everything I have learned and worked for out on the stage, showing the audience the hard work and dedication we have put forth, creating an unforgettable show."

Everything you need to know about auditioning for Voices of Broadway Season 14.

Not at all. Choreography placement is completely optional. We assess movement comfort only if you want us to — plenty of our members joined with zero dance background and thrived. Your voice is what matters most here.

That's okay — reading music isn't required to audition or join. We do ask that any sheet music you bring for the accompanist be full notation rather than chords-only, so they can play it accurately. Rehearsals include support for learning parts by ear too.

Choose one musical theatre song you genuinely love and feel comfortable performing. We'd rather hear a song sung with heart than a technically perfect piece you don't connect with. Passion is what we're listening for.

You'll hear back within a week with a warm, personal follow-up regardless of outcome. If you join, you'll get a welcome packet with rehearsal schedules, sheet music for our first numbers, and an introduction to the group.

Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesday evenings, with additional rehearsals added closer to performances. We ask members to commit to the performance schedule for the season, but we build in flexibility for real life.

Yes — the annual membership fee is $300, or $150 for a half-season, which covers rehearsal space, music licensing, and production costs. We believe every singer deserves this experience and are happy to discuss options if cost is a barrier.

Every single person who's ever joined Voices of Broadway felt nervous before auditioning — that's completely normal. Our audition room is warm and encouraging by design. We're not judges looking for flaws; we're future castmates excited to hear you sing.
